Corresponding Secretary (may be appointed) shall attend to correspondence as required.
Marlene became a member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Jerome Parish in the Sault when she became a Catholic almost 30 years ago. She was gifted a membership by our council and one of the ladies called and invited her to a meeting. She has never looked back. Like most members, she has done a variety of jobs and chaired several committees for her council. She has made many close friends and she’s grateful for the prayerful support of the League’s wonderful ladies. Marlene is commencing her third term on Diocesan Council this time serving as Corresponding Secretary. She has served in the past as Recording Secretary and Communications Chair. She would recommend the Diocesan Council to all Past Presidents as it puts the League in a different perspective.
Marlene has been retired ten years from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board where she worked for 35 years. Workplace Health and Safety continues to be a passion of hers.
Marlene and her husband George have been married 42 years and have lived here in the Sault almost 40 years. She is originally from Kirkland Lake and has also lived in Burlington and Hamilton. She and George have three grown children and will soon have five grand kids. She considers herself very fortunate to have two kids that live in the Sault. Her eldest lives in Brockville.
She watches her granddaughter two or three days a week. Marlene loves to read and belongs to two book clubs. She also loves to garden and golf but, sadly feels she is just terrible at both. ?
