Chairperson: Jane Chaput

I am a widow of nine years.  Was married to Paul Thomas Chaput for fifty years. I have two daughters, four grand children and four lovely great-grand children. I’ve surely been blessed.

My education was all through the Catholic system, graduating from Loretto Catholic Central in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan.

I joined the CWL in 2001 after retirement from twenty years of employment at a local Insurance company as a receptionist. I have held many positions in our Catholic Women’s League council of St. Jerome’s in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I received The Maple Leaf Service Pin in 2008. I was appointed the Regional Chair of Sault Ste. Marie then appointed onto the Diocesan Council as Community Life Chairperson. I convened many successful teas and bake sales with my sisters in the league in our parish of St. Jerome. In 2017, I was honoured to receive a Medal of the Diocesan Award of Merit from Bishop Jean Louis Plouffe, Bishop of Sault Ste. Marie Diocese.

I joined the Sister of St. Joseph & Associates in 2013, and am presently part of the Core group. I have been a Special Minister (Adult Minister) and Eucharist minister since the 80’s also on the Development & Peace ministry. I helped facilitated the Senior & Friends (Prayer Group) weekly at St. Jerome’s,  also volunteered at Pathways Retirement home, connected to our parish, before the Pandemic. For many years I have helped with the Pasta Suppers for the Knights of Columbus.

In 2017 I convened St. Jerome’s CWL council’s 60th Anniversary celebration. In 2020, I co-chaired with Margaret Hammond the Diocesan Convention held in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
