105th Annual SSM Diocesan CWL Convention

In a spirit of hopeful anticipation and joy, and on behalf of the Sault Ste. Marie Diocesan Council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, I warmly invite you to experience convention; with a refreshed format, at a new venue, in the month of May – in North Bay!
Invite a friend or future member to join you and make it a weekend of faith, fun and sisterhood! With an enhanced program this year, we welcome guest speakers and workshop presenters, as well as National Vice President Betty Colaneri, and Provincial President Colleen Martin. As pilgrims of hope, let’s gather to sow seeds of hope; for leadership, for youth, for reconciliation and for a universal church. League supplies and gifts, as well as a silent auction, will be available to serve your gift giving needs; bring your pocket book!
All are welcome to join us on Friday May 23, 2025 at 11:00 am to proudly raise the Catholic Women’s League of Canada flag at North Bay City Hall. An opening Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Thomas Dowd at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to arrive at the Motherhouse beginning at 5 pm if you wish to participate in self guided prayer at the Labyrinth located on the grounds, prior to the opening Mass. We express our sincere gratitude to The Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie are who are generously hosting an opening reception. We are sure to see familiar faces, and meet new friends too.
Fr. Francis Ezenezi, welcomes us to St. Peter the Apostle for a closing Mass beginning at 9:00 am, followed by presentations, a short business session and gratitude luncheon.
What a team! The councils in the North Bay region have been hard at work planning this year’s convention encounter under the leadership of convention chairperson Heather Busch. I am grateful for their tremendous efforts and share sincere appreciation on behalf of all members.
Join us in North Bay to shine your light, sow seeds of hope and share your fellowship in sisterhood, as we grow together in our ministry as women of faith called to serve, with our joy filled response; Here I am Lord, send me! We look forward to welcoming you all to North Bay in May!
